Unlike the standard theme for Zendesk Guide or themes from other providers, all our templates have a wide range of advanced tools to let you brand your help center without external help and coding skills: typography, colors, images, and social media links. When you change your theme settings, the changes apply to your entire help center store.

If don't want to make changes by yourself, you can order Zendesk customization from Lotus Themes.

The great thing about working with a Lotus theme is that a lot of the structural design decisions are made for you.

You can easily brand your Zendesk Guide and make changes as often as possible without involving developers.

But to get your store looking its best and to make your brand shine, you’ll need to add your touch to a theme. Think of it like decorating an interior — the fundamentals are all there, but you can choose the colors and tweak the decor.

To help you navigate the wide world of design decisions and make the right ones for your help center, we prepared some key design guidelines that can help anyone get their theme set up and keep it looking on-brand and polished.

  1. In Guide, click on the Customize design icon in the sidebar. The Theming center page opens.

  2. Click the theme you want to edit to open it.

  3. Click the Edit code button.

  4. Upload your logo and favicon in the Brand section of the theme.
  5. Change the background image in the Hero unit section. Use the right image resolutions. Images are a cornerstone of your help center, from your hero image on the home page to your article images.

You can find high-quality stock  images on those outstanding resources:

  6. Change the main colors of the theme. You can set primary and secondary color schemes for your theme. If you already have a logo, a general rule is to pick a few accent colors that match your brand or logo.

Usually, it's a good idea to match the color of the header and footer of your main website.

  7. Select the font. Our themes come with a preset of popular Google Fonts. Additionally, you can use your font by changing the theme's code.
  8. Set up custom blocks and contact boxes. Upload your icons for the custom blocks on the main page. Adjust as well as their names and links. We recommend linking the custom blocks to the most important pages of your main website or help center.  If you are struggling with icons, use the following resources:

  9. Adjust the home page layout. You can choose which blocks to show, for example, custom blocks, category list, category tree, and promoted articles.

  10. Adjust colors for article formatting components.
